MSC World America Cruise – Puerto Rico River Adventure & San Juan at Night
Puerto Rico was our next stop on the MSC World America cruise, and we went in with almost no idea what we’d signed up for. Ali booked a private “river adventure” tour based purely on the promise of water and excitement — and honestly, that was enough for us. The details were vague, the expectations were low, but the day turned out to be absolutely brilliant. We found ourselves jumping off cliffs (which looked much higher at the time!), wading through flowing water, scrambling over rocks, and tackling a very unusual exit strategy that we definitely didn’t see coming. It was one of those experiences where you just trust the guide, take a deep breath, and go for it. You’ll have to watch the video to see exactly how it all unfolded. Because the ship stayed in San Juan until late evening, we headed back onboard for a quick buffet dinner — something we don’t normally do at night — but it was surprisingly good and perfect for getting us back out into the city quickly. Old San Juan at night was gorgeous. We wandered the cobblestone streets, soaked up the atmosphere, and found a cozy little bar for a relaxing drink. Rob ordered a spiced tequila that was very spicy and, as we discovered later, very strong. We wrapped up the night back on MSC World America with some Latin music in the Dolce Vita Bar before heading to our cabin to rest up for the next adventure.
