St. Thomas Cruise Port Guide - No Excursion Needed!
Welcome back to our 50 Days of Cruising the Caribbean series! 🌴🚢 In this series, we’re visiting 13 cruise ports without booking excursions—showing you what you can do on your own and how to save money along the way. 👉 In our last stop, we tried something different and explored St. Maarten with a private taxi tour… But in St. Thomas, we went right back to our usual approach: ✔️ No excursion ✔️ No taxi ✔️ Just walking straight from the cruise port And honestly—you can do a lot here on your own. During our day in St. Thomas, we: Walked through the port and into Charlotte Amalie Explored a local outdoor market Visited Emancipation Garden Climbed the famous 99 Steps Made our way up to Blackbeard’s Castle The 99 Steps are one of the most iconic landmarks on the island—built in the 1700s by Danish settlers to navigate the steep hills of the city, and they actually have over 100 steps despite the name At the top, you’ll find Blackbeard’s Castle, a historic watchtower dating back to the 1600s with incredible views over the harbor.
