Is a DVC Member Cruise REALLY Different? 🚢 Our First Day at Sea
What actually happens on a Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise Day at Sea — and is it really that different from a normal Disney cruise? 🚢✨ It's our first full day aboard the Disney Dream DVC Member Cruise, and we're sailing towards our first port of Skagen, Denmark. After Embarkation Day gave us our first taste of what makes a Member Cruise different, today the exclusive programme REALLY kicks into gear. We start with a Disney Vacation Club Member Update, before heading straight into a presentation from Disney Imagineering about the creation of the new Frozen-themed land at Disneyland Paris. Then we're taught how to draw Mickey and Goofy by Bret Iwan — the official voice of Mickey Mouse — while he performs the voices as he draws! And somehow, that's only the beginning. 😂 During an absolutely packed sea day we experience presentations and appearances from some incredible Disney names, including Jodi Benson, Tony Baxter, Bob Weis, Becky Cline, Don Hahn, Ron Husband, Jim Cummings, Susan Egan and more. One particular event gives us something we're probably never going to forget: sitting around 15 feet away while Jodi Benson performs Part of Your World live. ❤️ We also receive another impressive DVC Member Cruise gift — a solar-powered MagSafe battery pack — explore the shops aboard Disney Dream, show you some of the exclusive Member Cruise merchandise and enjoy the changing snacks available from Member Central. Later, there's a Disney Hits singalong featuring some VERY familiar voices, dinner at Enchanted Garden — which remains one of our least favourite Disney Cruise Line menus — and an evening performance from Jeff Dunham. By the end of the day, we return to the question we asked at the very beginning: Is a sea day on a DVC Member Cruise really different from a normal Disney Cruise Line sea day? After today, we definitely have an answer. 😂 We're already starting to understand why these cruises cost more — and why so many DVC Members come back and do them again and again.
