Disney Dream DVC Member Cruise EMBARKATION! 🚢 What Makes It Different?
We're boarding the Disney Dream for our first ever Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise! 🚢✨ Disney Vacation Club and Disney Cruise Line occasionally operate special members-only cruises, and we're spending seven nights aboard the Disney Dream sailing from Southampton to Denmark and Norway. But what actually makes a DVC Member Cruise different from a normal Disney cruise? That's exactly what we're hoping to find out! Our Embarkation Day starts at Southampton's Horizon Cruise Terminal, where we experience the DVC Member Cruise boarding process before stepping back aboard the Disney Dream for the first time since 2024. And almost immediately, we realise this isn't going to be a normal Disney cruise... Before we've even boarded, we've already spotted some of the special guests joining the sailing, including Jodi Benson, Tony Baxter and Nina West — with around 50 special guests reportedly appearing throughout the cruise. Once onboard, we head to Cabanas for lunch, explore the Disney Dream, check out some of the exclusive DVC decorations and merchandise, and finally get into our Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom 2544. Then come the gifts. LOTS of gifts. 😂 We show you our new Castaway Club gifts before opening our first DVC Member Cruise exclusive gifts, including walking sticks and a surprisingly substantial backpack — with more gifts promised throughout the week. Later, we experience the new Disney Cruise Line sail-away party, attempt to buy the exclusive DVC Member Cruise merchandise, attend an exclusive event with John Stamos, and finish our first evening with dinner at Animator's Palate. But Embarkation Day isn't completely flawless. The DVC merchandise opening becomes chaotic, we question why several major Member Cruise activities have been scheduled so close together, and we once again find ourselves frustrated with Disney Cruise Line's boarding-group system. So after spending £5,400 on this seven-night cruise, has our first DVC Member Cruise got off to the start we hoped for?
