Our Disney Cruise Hit 12FT WAVES! 🌊 Stavanger, Norway 🇳🇴
Stavanger, Norway absolutely blew us away… before the North Sea tried to do the same thing to Disney Dream! 🌊🇳🇴 Today we're arriving in Stavanger, Norway on our Disney Dream DVC Member Cruise for what turns out to be one of our favourite excursions of the entire trip. Despite the VERY wet weather, we head out on a nearly five-and-a-half-hour excursion into the Norwegian fjords, surrounded by spectacular valleys, waterfalls and scenery that immediately has us comparing Norway with Alaska. We explore a beautiful Norwegian village, visit an incredible venue built directly into the mountain, try Norwegian pancakes with strawberry jam and sour cream and stop at some spectacular fjord viewpoints before returning to Stavanger for a guided walking tour. It doesn't take long before we're both saying the same thing: we need to come back to Norway. Back aboard Disney Dream, we discover another of our DVC Member Cruise gifts before taking advantage of a quieter ship to tackle the Midship Detective Agency. We show you how it works, where to start and some of the things we've learned from doing it before — without completely spoiling the mystery! And then the Captain makes an announcement… Disney Dream is expecting 12-foot waves overnight. The Halloween deck party is postponed, motion-sickness tablets are available from the Medical Centre and, once we leave the protection of the fjords, we experience some of the roughest seas we've personally encountered on a cruise.
