Santorini! – The First Port of our 11-Day Mediterranean Cruise!
When we decided to take a cruise back to Florida from Europe we thought it would be a great idea to also take the last mediterranean cruise of the season on the Norwegian “Epic”. And what a great idea that was! We got to visit some new ports and Santorini was the first one of them. We had heard that tendering in Santorini can be a bit slow as many people want to leave the ship at the same time and it is, but a little patience goes a long way. We waited for awhile and eventually it was our turn to go up on the cable cars. Once up there we started our hike from Fira to Oia as planned. WOW! This was probably the most scenic hike we have ever taken! It took us a long time to get to Oia, but mostly because we just had to stop often to take it all in. We highly recommend it. Eventually we did make it there and got to enjoy a beautiful sunset with some snacks and refreshing drinks. Well deserved after our longish walk! We then took the bus back to Oia and the stairs down to the tender boats. The line for the cable cars was super long! :O We will definitely go back to Santorini and stay a week or two, but this day was lovely and the perfect tasting of what this gorgeous island has to offer. Our next port is Athens! Also a first visit for us. Can’t wait! Thank you for watching. We hope you continue to join us as we explore the world! #timetolinger, #slowtravel, #TatandSteve, #Greece, #Santorini
