Jerez de la Frontera – From Port of Cadiz, Spain
The third port of our cruise was Cadiz, but we decided to visit Jerez de la Frontera for the day. We headed to the train station but missed the train as we arrived, and had to wait awhile for the next one. The train ride is less than one hour and very comfortable. After some needed cafe con leche and bocadillos we visited two churches. The church of San Miguel and Jerez de la Frontera Cathedral. Each unique and incredibly beautiful. We are always impressed by the different architectural styles through the centuries and the artistry of all the details. We could not leave without visiting the Alcazar. This large moorish fortress from probably the XII century has been excavated, restored and added on through the years by the Spanish. It was nice to explore and enjoy the view of the city from it’s tower and walls. All too soon we had to take the train back to Cadiz to make sure not to miss the ship. Next we are heading to Malaga and after to Marseille. Altogether this will be a 22-day cruise! Our longest yet. Thank you for watching. We hope you continue to join us as we travel around the world! #timetolinger, #slowtravel, #TatandSteve, #Spain, #Cadiz, #Jerezdelafrontera, #Cruising, #MSCMeraviglia
