Pisa, Italy – Finally going up the Bell Tower
Our 22-day cruise from New York comes to an end in Livorno and we decided to head over to Pisa and spend the day there before our flight to Paris the next day. We took a tour bus and then walked the rest of the way to our beautiful apartment. After dropping off our bags we took the city bus to Campo Dei Miracoli where the tower is. A while back we had made reservations to visit the top of the tower and all the buildings. It is a good idea as it can be very busy. You had to leave our bags in a locker before lining up at your scheduled time to go up. So excited to finally be here and go up and the experience does not disappoint. We are so thankful and grateful to be able to visit the places we have dreamed about for years. After the tower we visited the Cathedral, Baptistery and the peaceful and incredible Camposanto Monumentale (Holy Field). The frescoes there are probably the best we have ever seen. We stopped at a grocery store on the way back to our apartment and enjoyed an evening in before we head to Paris tomorrow. What is next after Paris? Walking the entire Camino Frances for a second time! Sooooo much to look forward to. :D Thank you for watching.
