Our Son LIED to Us?! This is NOT the Way We Expected to End our Princess Cruise.
Our final sea day aboard the Majestic Princess started off VERY rocky… literally! As we sailed back toward the end of our Thanksgiving cruise, the ocean was tossing the ship around pretty heavily. The waves were rocking us back and forth and side to side, and poor PJ started the morning dealing with some seasickness. We did our best to help him feel better with some ginger ale and a green apple before starting our final full day aboard the ship. But despite the rough seas, we weren't going to let that stop us from enjoying our last day. We grabbed a light breakfast and headed to the theater to watch the finale of Princess Cruises' version of The Voice. And according to Phil, Dee could have EASILY won the entire competition! 😂 None of the singers could apparently compete with Dee's vocal talent! After that, it was time for Phil to show everyone what HE could do. We headed to the Piazza for a line dancing class, and Phil decided to show off his moves. Somehow, he ended up dancing alongside the instructor and became the star of the class! 😂 But the biggest surprise of the day was still coming. We took PJ to the kids club, and his teacher told us that the kids were going to participate in a talent show. And apparently… PJ WAS GOING TO DANCE! We were SO excited. PJ had never told us anything about performing, so hearing that he was going to get on stage and showcase his dance moves completely caught us off guard. His teacher even told us he was going to perform, and PJ gave us a little preview of his dance. We were proud parents. We were ready. We were waiting to see our little guy shine. So we headed over to the lounge for the talent show and watched the other children perform their different talents. One kid performed. Then another. Then another. And we kept waiting for PJ. We waited… And waited… And waited. Then suddenly, the talent show was OVER. PJ NEVER PERFORMED! 😳😳😳 We were completely confused. What happened?! His teacher told us he was performing. PJ told us he was performing. He even showed us some of his dance moves beforehand! And yet, when it was time to perform, he never got on stage. His teacher even asked if there was anyone else who wanted to perform, and PJ didn't say anything. So now we had to figure out what happened. Did PJ chicken out? Did he get nervous? Did he change his mind? Or did our son straight-up fool us?! 😂 Needless to say, Dee, Laiah and I were pretty disappointed. Had we known PJ wasn't going to perform, we could have spent that time attending another event aboard the ship. But after we calmed down and realized that he's still a little kid, we decided not to let it ruin our final day. We stopped by one of our favorite bars for a drink, relaxed for a bit, and prepared for the final entertainment of our cruise. Later that evening, we attended the Variety Show, featuring multiple performances and musical acts that helped bring our final night aboard the Majestic Princess to a close. This cruise definitely had its highs and lows. We experienced amazing food, beautiful scenery, family memories, unexpected disappointments, hilarious moments, technical issues, confusing schedules, rough seas, and plenty of moments that had us laughing. And now, after eight days aboard the Majestic Princess, our Thanksgiving cruise is coming to an end. And after everything we experienced, would we sail Princess Cruises again?
