Weather takes a DRAMATIC turn in Cadiz! | P&O Iona 'Banana Cruise' Strikes again!
After a hopeful return to form in Seville, the Banana Cruise continues with a second day in Cadiz, Spain, but the calm doesn’t last for long! With some sunshine at last, I spend the day exploring Cadiz’s charming streets, historic plazas and beautiful coastal scenery. Walking around the narrow peninsula, I visit peaceful green spaces including the Parque Genovés botanical gardens, one of the city’s most beautiful spots, and enjoy a rare moment of calm by the sea feeling like a completely different holiday compared to the storms earlier in the cruise. Continuing through the old town, I head towards the Central Market and the mighty Cadiz Cathedral, passing through atmospheric Spanish streets full of history and character. I also visit the incredible Teatro Romano, a Roman theatre over 2,000 years old, hidden beneath the city ! One of Cadiz’s most fascinating historic sites. But as the day draws to a close, the weather turns once again. Heavy rain arrives and another storm rolls in. As we sail away from Cadiz, the skies erupt into spectacular lightning over the city, creating a dramatic end to our time here and another reminder that this cruise still has surprises left. Is the Banana Cruise finally stabilising… or is more chaos still to come? This video shows what it’s like to explore Cadiz on a cruise, from historic landmarks and coastal walks to dramatic stormy sailaways.
