The Captain Changed Our Port… Was It the Right Decision? | Ajaccio, Corsica | Queen Victoria
Our next port of call aboard Queen Victoria doesn't quite go according to plan. Because of poor weather at our scheduled port of Calvi, Corsica, the Captain makes the decision to change our itinerary and take us to Ajaccio instead. At first, missing a port I was looking forward to visiting is disappointing but when we arrive in Ajaccio, the weather is absolutely beautiful, and it turns out the Captain may have made the right call! I head ashore and take a local boat trip out to the spectacular Sanguinaires Islands, enjoying the incredible scenery and breathtaking views along the Corsican coast. After returning to Ajaccio, I have some time to explore the city before heading back to Queen Victoria for sail-away. And the day isn't over yet! Back on board, I'm invited to the Captain's Cocktail Party, held out on deck as the sun begins to set. With beautiful views, a stunning sunset and a glass in hand, it's a pretty special evening aboard Queen Victoria. 🥂🌅 The following day is another sea day, giving me more time to explore the ship, enjoy the entertainment and relax although my thoughts on the food are a little more mixed!
