Visiting My Favourite Cruise Port - Olden & the Kjenndal Glacier | P&O Iona Norwegian Fjords 2026
Today we’re visiting my favourite cruise port in the world, the magical village of Olden, Norway. Nestled amongst towering mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, and crystal-clear fjords, Olden is one of the most breathtaking destinations you’ll find anywhere on a cruise itinerary. The day begins bright and early as we sail through the stunning Nordfjord at 5am. The scenery is simply incredible, and it’s hard to think of a better way to start the day. After arriving in Olden in time for breakfast, I take a stroll around this charming Norwegian village before heading off on what may just be my favourite cruise excursion ever. The highlight of the day is a spectacular boat trip across the famous Loen Lake, known for its incredible turquoise-blue glacial waters. Surrounded by dramatic mountains and untouched Norwegian wilderness, we make our way towards the magnificent Kjenndal Glacier. The combination of the glacier, the vivid aqua waters, and the stunning scenery creates one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen. If you’re planning a Norwegian Fjords cruise, researching shore excursions from Olden, or wondering whether Loen Lake and the Kjenndal Glacier are worth visiting, this video will show you exactly why this corner of Norway is so special. Back onboard P&O Iona, we reflect on an unforgettable day as we sail away from Olden and continue our journey through the Norwegian Fjords. There’s also the chance to check out some new entertainment onboard as another fantastic day comes to an end.
