Just when it felt like the cruise might finally be turning a corner, the Banana Cruise takes another hit this time in a very wet Las Palmas, Gran Canaria 🌧️ Arriving with a weather warning in place, I head out early and walk towards the beach, only to get caught in heavy rain and strengthening winds, forcing me to take shelter. With the weather worsening, I visit the Elder Museum of Science and Technology, which turns out to be an interesting stop and a very welcome escape from the storm. As the rain continues, I explore the nearby shopping centre before walking towards Castillo de la Luz. While the site looks fascinating from the outside, it has been closed due to the storm! With the weather deteriorating, I return to P&O Iona and sail away earlier than planned to avoid the worst of the storm. Shortly before departure, the captain makes another disappointing announcement our next port, Lanzarote, has been cancelled due to the weather, leaving us with an unplanned sea day ahead in some very rough seas. With storms continuing and ports being missed, the big question remains… will this cruise ever get back on track? Recorded December 2025 Subscribe to Cruise with Bob again next time!
