We’re Ed & Mai—WanderFree Retirees 🌴 As full-time travelers, we had to answer one big question: 👉 Where do we legally “live”? In this video, we show how we became residents of South Dakota—one of the easiest states to establish residency, especially if you plan to travel full-time or live abroad. Why we chose South Dakota: - No state income tax - Simple residency requirements - Ideal for full-time travelers Here’s exactly what we did: - Signed up with DakotaPost (mail forwarding service) - Traveled to Sioux Falls - Completed paperwork at DakotaPost - Stayed one night at a hotel (required for residency proof) - Took our paperwork to the DMV - Applied for our driver’s licenses 👉 The only hiccup? A 4-hour wait at the DMV 😅 But in the end—it worked, and we are now officially South Dakota residents. This is a huge step in our journey as full-time travelers living on a budget, and it sets us up for what’s next: ✈️ Vietnam (2 weeks) 🚢 4 months cruising Europe 🌴 Then heading to Thailand full-time If you’re thinking about: - Retiring early - Traveling full-time - Living abroad This might be an option worth considering. 👍 If you found this helpful, don’t forget to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE! #SouthDakota #FullTimeTravel #RetireEarly #NoStateTax #TravelLife
