It’s always funny watching my videos over the years—you can literally see me getting more and more tired the deeper I go into these ancient sites. Right now, I’m sitting in front of the Great Temple, and honestly, I’m not going to hike up into it today. The Great Temple is incredible. It’s built on three impressive levels, with stunning hexagonal tiles underfoot that are truly worth seeing. There are also two sections up there where you can still find original painted stucco—yes, actual surviving paint on clay walls. It’s rare, and it’s beautiful. As for me, it’s getting hot, and I’m feeling the fatigue set in—so I’m taking a break and soaking in the view from here.
