Hi everyone! Stick Man Steve here 👋 and welcome back to Cruise Travel And Explore – today I’m bringing you an inside look at Cabin 8147 on Deck 8 aboard the fabulous Marella Voyager 🚢✨ This vlog is perfect for anyone wondering what it’s really like staying in an Inside Cabin with Marella Cruises, especially if you’re thinking about booking one yourself. So let’s get stuck in! We joined Marella Voyager in Bridgetown, Barbados, for a brilliant 15-night cruise split across two fantastic itineraries: Tropical Delights and Paradise Islands. And our cosy base for the trip was Cabin 8147 – a mid-ship Inside Cabin on Deck 8. These Inside Cabins are compact but really well thought-out – you get around 16m² of space, two single beds that can be pushed together to form a queen bed, and a decent en suite bathroom with a shower and WC. Some of these cabins even come with extra fold-down beds if you're a family of four 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We always opt for mid-ship cabins, and here’s why: they’re more stable if you’re prone to sea sickness 🌊. We paid a little extra to select our own cabin, but if you’re not fussed, Marella will assign one for you. During the cruise, we felt no sea sickness at all – and we also brought along our ginger kit! Ginger tea, ginger biscuits, ginger beer and green apples all help combat motion sickness 🍏🫖 Inside the cabin you’ll find tea and coffee facilities, including a kettle, sachets of tea, coffee, sugar and milk – all topped up daily. There’s also a mini fridge (empty), and a water carafe you can refill at water stations dotted around the ship 💧 Your cabin is looked after daily by the brilliant housekeeping team – you’ll get fresh towels (two bath, four hand), toiletries like hand soap, shower gel and a shower cap, plus loo rolls and bins changed as needed. We even got a nightly turn-down service complete with a chocolate on the pillow and the occasional towel animal – a lovely touch 🐘🍫 We found Cabin 8147’s location ideal – close to the lifts, but not too close to hear any noise. It made getting to the restaurants, bars, and pool deck quick and easy. Being mid-ship also meant we felt very little movement when the ship was at sea.
