Ajaccio Corsica Cruise Port 🇫🇷 | Walkable Port & Napoleon's Birthplace
Ajaccio Corsica cruise port turned out to be an easy and enjoyable place to explore on foot. After getting off our Sky Princess cruise ship, we simply walked into Ajaccio and spent the day discovering the historic city. One of the highlights was following the story of Napoleon Bonaparte, who was born in Ajaccio in 1769. We visited Maison Bonaparte, his birthplace, saw the cathedral where he was baptized, and discovered Napoleon monuments throughout the city. We also explored Place Foch, the Ajaccio Cathedral, Citadelle Miollis, the old town, historic alleyways, shops, restaurants and the waterfront before making our way back toward the ship. Ajaccio has a fascinating mix of Corsican, French and Mediterranean character, and we loved simply walking around and seeing what we would discover. One of the best things about this cruise stop was how much we could see without booking an expensive excursion. This video is part of our 113-day European cruise aboard Sky Princess, where we spent four months traveling through Europe and exploring the ports along the way. If you're planning a cruise stop in Ajaccio, Corsica, we hope this gives you some ideas for what you can see and do right from the port. 🇫🇷 About WanderFree Retirees We're Ed & Mai, early retirees who sold our home and set out to travel the world.
